31st May 2011 We’ve had a busy couple of months with weaning/handling and ponies/foals leaving for their new homes. We managed to get to 3 foals shows this year, the Tatura Welsh Pony & Cob Society foal show on the 17th April, where G. Divine was awarded Reserve Champion Shetland foal to mature 8.2hh & under and G. Starstruck won both his Shetland & Mini pony colt classes. On the 30th April we travelled down to the Heathcote foal show where G. Divine was awarded Champion Miniature pony foal & G. Galahad was awarded Champion Shetland pony colt foal & Reserve Champion coloured foal. We then made the long trip down to Dandenong for the Scottish Heritage day on the 29th May, one of our favorite shows. G. Divine was awarded Reserve Champion Mini pony filly to G. Daydream (now owned by Kerralie Goggin), G. Starstruck was awarded Reserve Champion Mini pony colt & G. Flamingo was awarded Reserve Champion Shetland foal 7.2hh & over. We would like to congratulate Lyn (Yarralyn stud) & Kerralie (Darley stud) on their successes with G. Starburst & G. Daydream, as well as all their homebred G. Galaxy foals. We would also like to congratulate Neil & Jodie De Bono of Marianella stud for their beautiful presentation & success with G. Monarch winning Champion Miniature pony at the Wangaratta foal show. We wish all the people that have purchased foals/ponies from us all the best with them in years to come & thank you for offering them such wonderful homes. We’re now looking forward to the quieter months over winter before next seasons foals start arriving. We’ve got an exciting crop due this year, expecting a few by our homebred G. Dynamo – thanks to Heather Beaman of Gully Lodge stud for allowing us to use this beautiful boy over some of our mares.
28th February 2011 Our last foal arrived on the 7th Jan, a dun skewbald colt out of Brosha Tiffany by G. Galaxy. Some of the older foals are almost ready for weaning & will then be off to their new homes. We had a great day out at the stud show mid Jan, G. Galaxy was awarded Reserve Champion stallion 8.2hh & under. We’re now looking forward to the foal shows in next few months.
30th December 2010 The foaling season is almost finished here, with just one mare holding off until the new year. We had three foals born this month, two Arabian & one Shetland. Aloha Makara foaled a chestnut (grey) filly by Aloha Rostrum on the 8th, E. P Unforgetable foaled a black filly by K. P Regal Promise on the 12th and G. Treasure foaled a skewbald colt by L. Jeronimo on the 22nd. Photo’s of the new arrivals will be up on the foals pages as soon as they are looking more photogenic. Most of our Shetland foals have already been sold to great homes, not long now and we’ll be weaning & heading off to the foals shows.
30th November 2010 November has seen two new arrivals, G. Filigree foaled a skewbald filly by L. Jeronimo on the 3rd and Boolarong Sunset foaled a skewbald filly by G. Galaxy on the 30th. We couldn’t be more pleased with these foals, both strong/healthy & literally came out running; already looking filled out and were playing & bucking from day one. We’re expecting our last couple of foals (both Shetland & Arab) to arrive before the end of the December. We had a very successful day out at the local Echuca show earlier this month. Glenelen Chardonnay won Champion Shetland female 8.2hh & under, Glenelen Colorado won his Shetland & Mini pony colt classes and then Champion Miniature pony male & Glenelen Glamour won Champion Miniature pony female, then Supreme Miniature Pony Exhibit. G. Galaxy has taken a working holiday down south again this year. Thanks to Lyn & Kerralie for all the work they put in to get him out and about to some shows for us, he was recently awarded Champion Shetland Stallion/Colt 8.2hh & under at the Dandenong show and Supreme Champion Shetland 8.2hh & under at the Yea show. Two of our young Arab fillies G. P Lara & G. P Sophina have now gone to Victoria; we wish their new owners all the best with them and much enjoyment in the future.
31st October 2010 It has been a busy month with six new arrivals, G. Kopy Kat foaled a black filly by S. James on the 2nd, G. Spotlight foaled a black filly by L. Jeronimo on the 5th, S. Star Gaze foaled a piebald colt by Yarralyn Kossack also on the 5th, G. Jewel foaled a bay filly by Yarralyn Kossack on the 19th, The Golden Meadows Lauren foaled a palomino filly by G. Touch of Magic on the 25th and G. Golden Pantz foaled a palomino/white colt by Yarralyn Kossack on the 31st. Photos of all the new foals will be up as soon as we can find a moment to get some reasonable shots.
30th September 2010 We have had two new arrivals during September, G. Foxtrot foaled a chestnut colt by Yarralyn Kossack on the 2nd, and Aloha Cheyenne foaled a bay & white filly by K.P Regal Promise on the 17th. We are expecting the rest of our foals to arrive over October & November with the exception of a late one or two. The Arabian foals 2010 page is now up, and photo’s of our new pinto filly will be up shortly.
31st August 2010 Our first foals have now arrived. G. Dearest foaled a piebald filly by L. Jeronimo on the 5th and G. Mesmerize foaled a piebald colt by S. James on the 22nd. Sadly we lost a beautiful black filly from G. Sweetheart by S. James on the same day, which has put a damper on the season already, but hopefully the rest of the foals will arrive safely. Our new 2010 foal’s page is under construction, and should be up with some photos of the two new babies shortly.
30th May 2010 Winter is now well & truly here, we have been fortunate to have had some autumn rain this year, thus providing us with some winter feed for the first time since 2001. Although the grass isn’t sufficient enough to stop hand feeding completely, it has given us some much needed relief from the continuous feeding costs. We have had some more horses/ponies depart for their new homes this month and we wish their new owners much enjoyment and success with them in years to come. Foaling season is only just around the corner again, with only a few months until we can expect our first arrivals and we can’t wait to see what this season brings.
26th April 2010 We attended the Welsh Pony & Cob Society foal show at Tatura on the 18th, a very successful show with all three of our fillies awarded broad sashes – Glenelen Glamour Champion Shetland Foal to mature 8.2hh & under, Glenelen Star Twinkle Reserve Champion Miniature Pony Foal and Glenelen Hi-light Champion Miniature Pony Foal and Best Exhibit to mature ne 10.2hh. New photos of the fillies have been placed on the Shetland foals 2009 page.
31st March 2010 March has been a relatively quiet month; however it will soon be busy again with the next group of foals being weaned over our Easter holidays. Most of our Shetland foals have new owners eagerly awaiting their arrival, so they will be off to their new homes over the next few weeks. We are very fortunate and pleased that our foals will be going to such fabulous homes. We wish their new owners every success with them in the future both as show and breeding ponies and would also like to thank them for putting ‘Glenelen’ ponies out there for us, something we are not finding the time to do ourselves.
26th February 2010 Our last and long awaited foal finally arrived on the 12th a golden palomino and white colt out of G. Antz Pantz and by G. Touch of Magic, he is a full sibling to G. Golden Pantz and of very similar type. Photos of our new boy will be up on the Shetland foals 2009 page shortly. We have had another busy month with a few of our horses/ponies leaving for their new homes. It is very hard to see them go, while at the same time a relief as we will now be able to devote more time to the ones that are staying. The first few early foals have now finished being weaned and we are looking forward to the foal shows in April/May.
31st January 2010 We had two foals in December G. Silhouette foaled a skewbald colt by G. Just-A-Devil on the 6th and E. P Unforgettable foaled a black filly by K. P Regal Promise on the 11th so all in all a very pleasing season with all fillies from our Arabian mares and 5/8 fillies from our Shetland mares. Our last mare to foal G. Antz Pantz has been keeping us waiting and waiting, although not due until early Feb she’s been ready to go at any moment for the past few weeks, so we’ve had a few sleepless nights. It has been a busy couple of months with 5 of the young Arabs plus a 9y-o mare being started under saddle. New photos have been added or will be added over the next few weeks on the mares, fillies, colts and geldings pages so keep checking back for updated photos.
28th November 2009 We have had another 2 foals arrive this month. G. Filigree foaled a chestnut filly by G. Silvardo on the 12th and G. Spotlight foaled a piebald filly by L. Jeronimo on the 17th. It seems luck has gone our way this season with only 2 colts so far. G. Just-A-Devil has now been sold to a wonderful home in NSW and K. P Regal Promise will be departing for his new home in Tasmania later next month. I had some exciting news today Glenelen Galaxy won Champion stallion and then Supreme Miniature pony at the Yea show, once again thank-you to Lyn and Kerralie for doing such a fabulous job with him. New photos of Galaxy are up on the Shetland stallions page. Photos of the new foals will put up some time over the next week, so keep checking back for updates.
31st October 2009 It has been a relatively quiet month here, with only one new arrival. Shanusti Star Gaze foaled a skewbald filly by L. Jeronimo on the 10th, she is a full sister to G. Galaxy who was recently awarded Supreme Champion Shetland 8.2hh & under at the Barastoc Championship show (Ayr Hill) on the 4th Oct. Thank-you to Kerralie and Lyn from Darley and Yarralyn studs for showing him for us, we’ll have to send our ponies out with you more often.
30th September 2009 September has seen 5 new arrivals. G. Sweetheart foaled a skewbald colt by G. Galaxy on the 3rd, our leased purebred Arabian mare Mathoura Sophirah foaled a bay filly by K.P Regal Promise on the 5th, G. Y2K foaled a chestnut filly by G. Silvardo on the 9th, G. Molly foaled a palomino colt by G. Touch of Magic on the 10th and G. Treasure foaled a skewbald filly by G. Galaxy on the 12th. We are planning a busy weekend taking photos of all the new foals and hopefully we can get them up on the site in the next few days.
22nd August 2009 Our first two foals have arrived. Aloha Cheyenne foaled a bay filly by K.P Regal Promise on the 1st of Aug, not the black & white filly that we had ordered, however it is a filly and very pretty. Spectacular foaled a bay filly with a lace blanket by K. P. Regal Promise on the 16th Aug our first Part Arab Appaloosa so we are just thrilled. The two new arrivals will be up on the web as soon as we can get some nice photos. Oxford Elizabeth has been sold to a lovely home in Queensland and will arrive at her new home later in the season. Details regarding our stud reduction have been placed on the for sale pages. Other pages have also been updated including both Shetland and the Arabian photo galleries.
25th July 2009 After some years talking about it, my daughter Robyn finally has our website up and running. With numerous hours spent out in the sun over summer washing anywhere up to six horses/ponies a day and then patiently trying to get a reasonable photo on 35+ degrees days, it has been a long and exhausting task. Although some of the photos are not all we could hope for, it is better to have one photo up than none at all (it’s never very interesting browsing websites without photos). We hope to replace any not so good photos in the coming Spring/Summer when they are all in good coat again. It is a little disappointing that we did not make more of an effort to photograph our horses and ponies over the years as they were/are in their prime, as some of our horses/ponies (particularly our older Shetland mares) don’t do themselves justice now they are in their later years. After a few foals and a touch of founder, it’s hard to show their true quality in a current photo. Although our website hasn’t got the professional touch, we feel it is more important that it easy for people to use and navigate. By creating it ourselves we are able to update it as regularly as necessary. This season we are expecting 4-5 Arab foals and 10-12 Shetland foals from early August. They will all be up on the web as they arrive and as time permits. So keep checking back for updates. |
